Lotus Exige Review
The Lotus Exige is a car designed for racing enthusiasts. Lotus first introduced Elise in United States and followed it up with Exige. While the Lotus Elise is delicate the Lotus Exige is a racing machine. The car is expected to be launched in the Indian automobile market through Mahindra some time in 2010.

Lotus Exige Specification
The Lotus Exige review reflects that the car comes with a 1800cc, 4-cylinder VVTL-i petrol engine. This engine can deliver power of 257 bhp at 8000 rpm along with torque of 238 Nm at 5500 rpm. 2 individuals can be accommodated in the car. The car has fully independent suspension with unequal wishbones.

The Exige design including bodywork lengthened nose, covered roof and new rear wing were developed so as to deliver better cornering. At low speeds the brake system may seem abrupt but at high speeds the brakes seem smoother and easier to operate. The engine comes with 6-gear manual transmission feature. The kerb weight of the car is 902 kgs and its fuel tank limit is 48 litres.

While the Lotus Exige handling is superior the stiff suspension makes the ride quite uncomfortable. It is therefore not possible to use the vehicle on a daily basis. The top speed of the vehicle is 225 km/hr and the car can reach 0 to 100 km/hr in just 4.1 seconds.

Lotus Exige Mileage
The mileage for the car in Indian conditions is not known.

Lotus Exige Interiors
The Lotus Exige cabin is not too luxurious and does not have many features. Most individuals may find it difficult to enter and exit the cabin but the seats within the car are extremely comfortable and supportive. Since the car has been designed for race enthusiasts the cabin has been kept bare and this also helps in ensuring that the weight is kept down. The features offered as options for drivers include leather upholstery and upgraded stereo system.

Lotus Exige Safety features
As this car is meant as a low volume vehicle meant for adrenaline junkies it does not have many safety features. The safety features available in the car include front driver as well as passenger airbags.

Lotus Exige Price and design variations
The price of the car is around Rs 61 lakhs and the car is available in two design variations which include Lotus Exige S 240 and Lotus Exige S 260.
